Smyrna carpet knotting is based on a very old Greek tradition and even after centuries still a popular knotting style. Prym's lockable carpet hooks are the ideal tools for this handwork. Once the tip of the carpet hook is passed through the canvas, the hook lock opens automatically. This allows the thread to be inserted and pulled through the canvas. With this process, the hook closes automatically and prevents the thread from slipping.
